one of the Chinese biggest facility specifically designed for
conferences and exhibitions, Beijing International Convention
Center has an area of 68802.54 square meters. It's an eight-floor
building with two underground floors, comprising 50 conference
halls and meeting rooms equipped to serve a wide variety of
purposes with the capacity from 10 up to 2500 people, as well
as indoor exhibition halls acc-ommodated as many as 300 international
standard exhibition booths and dozens of offices. The Conference
Building also has a business center, an audiovisual studio,
a post office, an information counter, spacious registration
hall, public and VIP lounges and bars located on each floor.

The BICC specializes in staging national and international
conferences, exhi-bitions and other large events, as well
as leasing office space, furthermore suppl-ying food and beverage
SERVICES; photography and kinescope SERVICES; duplication
and information consultation SERVICES; space and equipments
releasing, whole-sale and retail business for the use of catering
and amusement. In addition, the halls are equipped with international-advanced
simultaneous interpretation system, first-rate acoustic apparatus,
a live TV relay system, inside and outside communication system,
video conference system, etc. It realized high-tech infor-mation
administration by LAN through the center.
Since the establishment of the building, the center has received
and arranged over 4000 important activities, including large
and medium sized conferences, exhibitions and other events,
such as the 11th Asian Games, the 4th World Women's Congress,
the 19th International Entomological Conference, the 22nd
Universal Postal Congress, etc, which had made a great influence
internationally and domestically. "The Women's Gala Festival","The
Children's Village"¡ê "The Beijing International
Beer Festival" were also planed and arranged by BICC.
On July 5th 1992 and April 15th the BICC joined AIPC and ICCA,
two international organizations. At the end of 1994, it was
honored the tiltle of"the Best Venue For Hosting International
Conferences" by Beijing Municipal Tourism Administration
and entered the Beijing Tourism Association qualified as the
Five Stars.
The BICC is supported by other BNSIG members - the Continental
Grand Hotel, the Huiyuan Apartment, the North Star Shopping
Center, the Hong Kong Nice Food Restaurant, the North Star
International Tourist Co. and the North Star Taxi Service.
